This mod will take most of the vanilla emergency vehicle models and attempt to address many of their issues and oversights that were left over by Rockstar Games when they were being ported from the original Xbox 360/PS3 release to the current PC version of GTA V. It also serves as a standalone dlcpack that will keep the default vehicles from the "Emergency" category in one easy and accessible place, rather than having multiple vehicles scattered across many different patchday and dlc archives.
The original designs for emergency services of Los Santos and Blaine County aren't entirely awful, however it has become quite clear that there was a lack of polish and general quality consistency made by Rockstar when creating the current gen versions of their respective vehicle models. Many of the vehicles have quite noticeable UV mapping errors, LOD (Level Of Detail) model issues, and even those that are meant to be the exact same vehicle can have a radical difference in their models actual polygonal quality (For example, the LSPD Police Cruiser has much lower poly body parts compared to its Sheriff and Unmarked Cruiser counterparts, the same issue applies between most variants of the Declasse Granger SUV)
This mod aims to address all of those issues and more, to make all the default emergency vehicles feel more complete and consistent in quality between each other! Changes made are meant to be subtle, so don't think of these as massive, absolutely perfect overhauls of each individual vehicle, but rather just some small quality of life tweaks and enhancements to make using the vanilla style EV's a bit more tolerable.
The mod will also introduce higher quality versions of livery textures on vehicles that didn't get enhanced or up-scaled versions by Rockstar originally (Police unit numbers, Park Ranger livery etc) All recreated to match the vanilla designs by Rockstar, while still being optimized and file size friendly. Additionally, I have also went ahead and fixed bugs that were present with carcols.ymt file sirensettings data, things like incorrect corona colours, sequencer value errors/oddities, adding environmental lighting, as well as bringing back some sirens that were present in the old-gen versions of GTA V.
Alongside this, thanks to some special model edits, all vehicles that have sirens with flashing LED light textures will now be much more visible during daytime hours, and more vibrant at nighttime. Works with vanilla GTA V graphics, no need for graphics related file to be edited! Finally, I've also included model/texture variations and other misc files as "Optionals" These are some ideas I didn't want to make part of the main mod itself, but felt some people might enjoy more than just the pure vanilla Rockstar Games vehicles with some aforementioned tweaks and fixes.
Features:
- Multiple fixes, tweaks, and adjustments made to most of the vanilla emergency vehicle models by Rockstar Games
- No out of place equipment or assets! Everything is designed to be as true to vanilla, or to fit in with vanilla, GTA V's style and to be as lore friendly as possible
- Enhancements and additions across all models, including more interior extra props and equipment details to improve the work of emergency services across Los Santos and Blaine County!
- Improvements and optimizations made to textures, such as higher quality liveries on vehicles that didn't get an upscale by Rockstar Games originally
- Adjustments to the carcols.ymt for siren lights, aims to fix some errors and oversights left by Rockstar, including flash pattern corrections and added environmental lighting!
- Brighter LED sirens visibility across all vehicles that use them. All model based! No more editing graphics related files to have brighter sirens
- All default GTA V emergency vehicle slot models unified into one easy to manage dlcpack!
- .OIV Package for easy, hassle-free, installation! (A manual installation for those who prefer that method is also included)
- Customizable! Many optional models, textures, and misc files that will bring back some aspects of the vehicles that were seen on old-gen/beta versions of GTA V, alongside some more optional alternatives to choose from!

Big Come.
i think i found a bug, they all use the vanilla lightbar
@Nachtfliege Based bug, will not fix (⌐ ͡■ ͜ʖ ͡■)
Cool, but does this address:
- the fucked normals on literally all of these cars? We recently had a pack of day1 vehicles, which includes a few emergency versions, with polished weighted normals so it feels a bit counterproductive to have this conflict with that.
- the police3 physics? seems to be a combination of really bad COM in handling and inertia vectors in the collision model.
I'm also a tad confused as to why the side skirts of the Granger were removed, considering peds stand on them on all 4 variants of the emergency Grangers.
Nicer in-game comparison pics would be nice compared to oofy OIV comparisons which don't really sell the mod very well; can barely tell the difference between the Police Cruiser comparisons, getting closeups in game would be nice.
@Vx5 Voltage thanks for keep making the single player game as smooth as possible. Keep it up.
@Monkeypolice188 Thank you Monky for your comment! To answer those questions:
In regard to the normals - Well this mod was already in development and more or less completed (admittedly was pushed back quite a few times due to RL things getting in the way) before that Qol Pack you are referring to eventually came out. So no, they are just the day1 normals for now. Also, it is worth mentioning not all default EV models have been released as part of that pack by Austen yet to my knowledge. I will probably do more research into fixing normals myself for future updates and projects though, however I cannot guarantee it'll be an immediate fix that gets top priority.
In regard to Pol3 Handling - I actually took the Inertia and COM values from Torrence SSO mod, which a few people reported that mod felt better than vanilla R* Pol3. That said, at the time of writing this response, I'm actually further testing some more improvements to the handling edits which should hopefully fix those issues more but still keep Pol3's traits like superior speed, acceleration, and braking etc compared to the other vanilla police cruisers.
In regard to the Granger side steps/skirts - No they are there, not removed at all! It's just the perspective/lighting in the screenshots obscures them somewhat, plus they were all actually moved up to better accommodate the side hanging ped animations, and be consistent with the civilian Granger model (R* vanilla FIB Granger for example had them placed too low to where peds would float)
In regard to the comparison shots - I'll fully admit this was a bit of corner cutting on my end, and you are absolutely right! Better in-game comparisons would've been preferred for something. I'll try and grab some in the next few days once I have some free time from work again.
i keep trying to write suggestions but for some reason it gets deleted when i post a comment
@YaBoiRandom Hmm, not sure why since I'm unable to remove any comments on my end. Might be an issue with 5-Mods site backend. Would love to hear your suggestions still if it would let you post em :)
long story short. Mod good. suggestions: black and white livery for sheriff have sheriff 2 have LSSD logo on one door. police3 with LS Seal (like police stainer and buffalo) remove FDLC from fire truck. Ambulance with less area specific livery and SAMS style state wide medical service.
@YaBoiRandom Thanks for the suggestions! Glad you liked the mod also. With regard to your suggestions:
- Those last ones about the Ambulance liveries I'll probably not do, as I feel that would go against the original concept I had for this mod, which is to polish the original ideas and designs by Rockstar that were seen in vanilla GTA V to be less buggy and higher quality in places.
- Not sure about changing Sheriff2's door decal. However, having a black and white Sheriff Cruiser to match the Sheriff SUV could make for a nice optional model, so I'll keep that in mind for future updates. Thanks!
- I plan to make a Police3 with the standard LSPD livery into its own mod at some point in the near future, as a cop counterpart to my Vapid Torrence SSO mod of which it will probably re-use the new interior from (essentially I have too many ideas for changes I'd want to make that I don't think it would feel appropriate here in this mod)
- Oh! The FDLC triangle decal on the side of the Firetruck I believe is a reference to the in-universe lore equivalent of the 9/11 attacks, or something equally devastating that happened in Liberty City some point prior to the events of GTA V (the text on it reads "In memory of our fallen brothers") Personally, it's a cool little detail that I think adds to the HD games lore. Nodding to a real life tragedy without being too insincere or disrespectful, given the nature of GTA games overall. Plus, it was there originally on the vanilla livery by R*, so I'm going to keep it here on this mod.
I see some texture quality increases, Is it not gonna cause more texture loss when bundled with LSPDFR? or is it not meant to be used with that?
@Shadow Considering all texture upgrades for things like liveries in this mod are below 4k, I highly doubt it would cause dramatic texture loss even with mods such as LSPDFR. Multiple textures at 4k resolution or higher seems to be GTA V's limit, but texture loss can also be caused by a variety of other mods installed, like graphical mods/ENBs etc. While I don't play LSPDFR myself (I find the amount of basic features honestly pitiful compared to the old LCPDFR from GTA IV, plus RAGE Hook's optimization is terrible on FPS) I'm sure one could use this mod and not experience many, if any, issues during gameplay
@Vx5 Voltage Thanks might just try it.
Great work!
mapped riot pls?
@Vx5 Voltage question, does this mod restore the white revolving light on the sheriff and ls cruisers?
I'm a dumb*** just read through the optional files and it's there but as I understand - the corona light (stuff that's seen through the plastic red, white, blue ummm cover? and color that reflects onto the vehicle itself) will be amber, light blue color? Is there a way to make it red, blue as regular og rotating lights? PS AWESOME MOD, THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS!!!!
Is there a way to increase the siren light radiance from a larger distance so that from far away they don't look so dim ?
It's Nice, But can you update me so that choose various interiors with simple vanilla styles and buffalo cruiser or Interceptor style textures as an optional? :)
Ex: I want to choose vanillatics interior and Buffalo Cruiser Style Stanier Curiser.
update when?
