Updated trains.xml for Walter's Overhauled Trains v.3
Updated traintracks.xml to improve braking distances
This mod enables trains on both tracks, meaning two trains can be seen running at the same time. Slow, shorter trains operate on a reactivated line to Mirror Park and along a new line to Davis Quartz. Longer, faster, and more varied trains operate on the default route. Faster trains will safely overtake a slower train if needed, with no collisions between the two. There are locations where the faster express and slower local stop. (See Map for details.) For now, these stations have few if any amenities. This will be fixed in the future.
REQUIREMENTS:
Map Editor (To load and delete objects)
Menyoo (To make tracks visible)
OpenIV (To install the mod)
SUGGESTED MODS:
Walter's Overhauled Trains - More varied trains, including passenger and commuter trains.
J10's Railroad Engineer Script - A script which lets you drive the trains.
NOT COMPATIBLE WITH:
Any mod involving the tram or its route; the tram will disappear.
Stations of San Andreas; This modifies the track files and is thus incompatible.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
Place LSLocal.xml in scripts/AutoloadMaps
If the folder does not exist, create it.
If you are using Walter's Overhauled Trains mod, select Overhauled. If not, select Vanilla to find trains.xml
Run OpenIV, navigate to Mods/Common.rpf/data/levels/gta5
Replace trains.xml, traintracks.xml, Train1.dat and Train4.dat
Run GTA5.

@Transitman hello. could you create a trains.dat where the train doesn't go back to its opposite right like in the city and at the gravel pit (anywhere where there are no tracks (Vanilla).
[POSSIBLE BUG REPORT]: Hiya @Transitman I'm loving your mod, however I do have one probable bug that actually ruins the gameplay for me. Mostly on the siding where, I believe the Rancho roadrunning track splits off to the La Mesa yard, the one under the interstate (Sorry if these are the wrong names, but I'm not too familiar with GTA's topography lol; I just wrote what it showed me on the bottom right when I entered those areas.) trains tend to "crash" into each other by driving on the same track. They basically drive through each other and both come to a full-stop when the first carriage (Or locomotive, depending if in- or outbound) of each train is inside of the other's. If it's a passenger train, the passengers in the carriages get crushed by the other's when they continue to drive through each other, leaving blood and bodies everywhere from inside the carriages and on the roofs, to bodies flung out and now lying on the tracks and streets. The engineers always remain unhamerd though.

This is very immersion-breaking and eliminates the possibility of driving by train as passenger (which I initially downloaded this mod for) since you just get flung out of the train if another train comes through yours, or simply die instantly if you don't have a modmenu with godmode enabled.
I am using Train Stations V though, along with the Overhauled Trains and the Freight Train Extended mods. Are these causing the issues or is this an actual bug?
ADDITION: It's not ONLY on this track, but it happens here more frequently than on other parts of the line.
This may be great if it works-Upon loading game,it stops and I get a Script Hook V error.I have the latest version so no idea why.Hope I get a reply soon as I would like to have this mod working.Thanks.Looks great tho.
might just be me but it seems the additional tracks won't show up. map editor seems to not get along menyoo. tis a shame.

this is the coolest mod! but can i put other modified trains.xml for the overhauled? like the movie train refrences mod?
I wonder the same thing. Because I was using LaSubway and now it doesn't spawn. I added it to the trains.xml but it doesn't seem to work.
@Transitman I inserted the lines from the vanilla trains4.dat in the new one, now the old line works too! (With freight and streak trains) why didn't you know that? I had no crashes! ( i Have a custom gameconfig installed)
Can you do the same with metro ?

i installed it right, and the tracks show, but there's still only the normal train using its normal route. there is no second train, i rode it all around the map, and it was the only train.

I have a solution to the Train and the tram problem. So remember how the train and the tram goes to the same track? Well I managed to find a solution Thanks to Kitsune. Here is the Solution. You have to change the location of the traintracks.xml, trains4.dat and trains1.dat try placing it in MODS/UPDATE/UPDATE.RPF./COMMON/DATA/LEVELS/GTA5
If it doesn't work try use the backup of train1.dat and place it to the same GTA Path that I just said. if neither of those didn't work then try contacting kitsune
great mod makes railroads feel more lively than in the vanilla game, my only issue is menyoo and map editor doesn't load in the custom tracks so when the train is looping around it looks like its just driving in the air mostly noticable in davis quartz since its in an open area
Can anyone help me in combining it with Kitsune's mod?
