Popular with local rednecks and angsty teenagers these days, the Vapid E-109 was built alongside the Bobcat with nothing more than American steel and rolled out of the factory with just one goal: own the streets. Officially nicknamed the "Contender" as a result, this little truck provided the much needed balance between work, fun, and downright traffic violation for all the years and models to come.
This is a totally original model edit that's totally supposed to resemble and be the lore-friendly version of the 1980s Ford F-150 and was totally not a Bobcat XL and a Rancher bashed together with about 100 total hours of dealing with the totally uncooperative modelling tool. Totally.
But seriously, I was bored and I made this after a little inspiration via video games. The more the merrier I say. I'll probably end up updating this eventually with more stuff for it. Spawn with "contender3" for the clean variant, and "contender4" for the beater variant.
--Features--
-Glass shards remain when you break the glass.
-Worn bodywork for the beater is just like the other worn out vehicles.
-Hella traffic colors.
-Did somebody say LODs?
-This vehicle has a name in 6 different languages.
--Known Issues--
-Some minor mesh issues. Not noticeable unless you really search for them. Will probably fix someday.
-The rim is kinda glitched, if you lose the tire you'll be able to see into the rim. I did not touch the wheels, resizing aside, so I dunno what's the problem here.
--Installation--
Drop the "spcontenderclassic" folder into dlcpacks and add the line "dlcpacks:\spcontenderclassic\" to dlclist.xml in update.rpf/common/data. This mod also supports my add-on license plates mod, just remove the commented-out text in the DLC's carvariations.meta to enable them.
That's about it. Enjoy!

inb4 added to the Vanillaworks Pack
I say it looks pretty cool
That's a solid work. Not a fan of the big metallic VAPID badge, though - it could do with a colourable texture instead.
These look really nice, but I'm not really feeling that vapid badge at the rear end :/
Awesome!!! 😀
Really good mod, but the Vapid logo on the back is a little pixely, i'd say improve it if you can or just get rid of it. Great Mod either way!
I am agree with @Penguin_09 you may improve it, deboss it (like "COBRA" on the rear bumper of a Mustang), or turn it into outlined letters decal (like CelicaXX). Nevertheless, great mod!
thank you! idk what it is about older trucks but I love them especially the fact that its vanilla and the fact that you added a beater version (I will say some of the rust textures could be moved (like that giant one on th ebed right behind the driver door looks a bit odd) also I think the Vapid lettering on the back would look better if you moved it down to the center of the tailgate as opposed to the top, and maybe on the rusty version it could be missing a letter
Beautiful Vapid Contender Classic, so much better than the gta online version which looks more like a karin pickup. Also, i saw you perfectly recreated a reference of "Life Is Strange" characters Max & Chloe with her truck. 500 stars out of 10 \m/
Yep the Vapid badge on the back doesn't look good. Same with the rust texture. If you can improve those, then this is great
Other than some rough textures, very good model!
@WildBrick142 could use the vapid off of the tailgate on the slamvan? i think it would look better
Looks like Bobcat😂😂
So far the general opinion is to change the rear badging - will do! Thanks for the suggestions. I don't know when the next version will release, though. The rust texture, along with some other issues, should also be fixed for the next version.
@AlpiBaba My main interest is in American vehicles (and Americanizing other vehicles), but I might be able to do something about it. No promises though.
@Ward enterprises ^_^
@shadow_spark Hmmmm.... 🤔
@WildBrick142 lovely work man, it fits just well into the lore. Have you thought about making a dual version?
Also, Im not sure if you are up for suggestions so I will just ask you if its even possible: editing the Comet so the spoiler and the air ducts acts as extras/components so the car could spawn like either the IV or V versions.
A beater variant? Awesome to the max. Nobody seems to do beater cars... and well Trevor looks weird driving anything but.
I think the LOD could use improving though. At far distances the tyres pop out and make the truck look like it's got a widebody kit installed.
....Dammit. Between this and the Chole Ped Mod I can recreate Life is Strange.....
@WildBrick142 thisfileisnotcalledwhatitssupposedtobebutitworks-ohhelloworld
@WildBrick142 Hum, is it just me or the LODs have wheels that stick out? Like @Yinepu said
@electricgamers Yeah, the lods are a bit borked. Never got around to fixing those, maybe someday.
