This is a modified version of ModkitLimit Extender that works on GTA5 Legacy and Enhanced.
Its source code is hosted on GitHub (Changelog).
To install, simply drag ModkitLimitAdjusterEnhanced.asi and ModkitLimitAdjusterEnhanced.ini into your game directory.
The default number of vehicle modkits, which can be handled by the game is adjusted to 2048 by default, but please increase it to 65536 if you are facing any issues.

@Bear82 Hey, could you confirm if the original version ( https://de.gta5-mods.com/tools/modkitlimit-extender ) works on legacy. If not, then it must be another mod not being compatible.

@Bear82 glad to help. As a last ditch attempt to get it working. You could try setting the value in the ini to the max value for an unsigned short : 65536, as apparently some add-on cars use modkit ids that are too high, and i believe the game uses the ids to index into the array, which might cause it to crash, as, unlike the array the game uses natively, the one we allocate comes before memory that is not reserved by the process, hence why the crash when it tries to dereference it. If this still doesn't fix it, then it's probably some incompatible mod.
@Bear82 It seems setting the value in the ini to 65536 fixes any issues, as reported by other users on discord.

Is this compatible with NVE?
@TooLegiit I'm not aware of any reason it shouldn't be, but please test it and let me know, as I don't have NVE.
Can this value be increased above 65,536? What’s the maximum allowed, and is setting it higher always better?
@Spogew it can't actually be set higher than 65536, as the game uses an unsigned short for the id values. And setting it to 65536 is the safest option, as some modkit authors set high ids to their modkits, which would cause the game to crash if you don't extend the limit enough.
