Dynamic Vehicle First Person
A custom first person vehicle camera script, with inertia effects, dynamic horizon lock, depth of field effects and a lot of customizability.
Originally made within Manual Transmission as a fix for locked camera with synced wheel animations, but it got too big, so I extracted it into a standalone script.
Settings and demo lap on the Nordschleife in Wanted188's GTR R32
Note: The steering animations is part of Manual Transmission's steering improvements.
Requirements
Installation
Copy DynamicVehicleFirstPerson.asi and the DynamicVehicleFirstPerson folder to the GTA V folder.
Alternatively, you may put the DynamicVehicleFirstPerson folder in %localappdata%\ikt\ if the GTA V folder is not writeable for the script.
Usage
Use cheat 'dfpv' (without quotes) to open the menu. (Open the cheat console using the tilde (~) key, which is left to your 1 key, under the Escape key)
All camera settings are adjusted within the menu, with descriptions for what each option does.
The first person camera automatically activates when the camera is switched to first person view.
Refer to the included README.txt for more information, and how to configure the various configuration and camera possibilities.

@ikt bro, please implement a means to disable an input method when more than one is registered or sync camera between inputs— camera keeps jumping around which is really annoying to me. Many thanks.
@CipherOG If that’s the standard expected of a moderator in this “damn community”, then I have no qualms— they can cry all they like in that case, and I can tell them to you know what when they don’t like an innocuous comment. The fact it’s not’s paid, means it’s all the more important. Redditor lol.
"Changes for Enhanced:
Support GTA V Enhanced
Allow turning off some first-person rendering flags to get RT mirror reflections in Enhanced"
I've turned off flags for raytracing reflections, but my reflections are blurry, not clear like in your picture. How can I fix this? All my ingame graphic settings are maxed out.
@Wolfx101 Bro this isn't reddit your white knighing is big cringe and you're spamming the comments section taking up unnecessary space where users could put their issues. You could've seen the comment and not say a thing saving everyone the lost brain cells lol it's not that deep, mod creators owe us nothing
@Wolfx101 ALSO if your so worried about the community why havent you posted any contributions other than hundreds of ranty comments ??? LOL
@ikt There seems to be some kind of confusion. I replaced your latest ASI file with an older version.
As for the braking jolt animation where the character leans forward, I couldn't find where it's disabled in the ASI. Could you show me how to fix it?
Can you stop the camera from facing forward on its own? Like is there a way to get full control of it to just be still?
I just wish there was a function to disable the driver's whole body when braking hard. Let the camera stay still. I have NoHeavyBrakeAnimation = true but the body still can't stop
@ikt This is probably a long shot, but on your YouTube video demo of this mod, could you please share the coordinates you have saved for Nordschleife Parkplatz and Nordschleife Start/GP please? I'm using the same mod as you (the one by Vans123). Thanks. :)
@late4work
Sure thing:
[Teleport3Slot6]
x=7083.64
y=7643.5
z=390.589
MenuDescription=Nordschleife Parkplatz
[Teleport3Slot7]
x=5942.9
y=6695.75
z=440.764
MenuDescription=Nordschleife Start/GP
Make sure to grab https://www.gta5-mods.com/maps/nurburgring-gp-sprint-layouts-unblocked to make all layouts usable.
@couldbz
Only some vanilla cars have decent reflections. Vehicles that have a somewhat usable, non-blurred reflection:
Declasse Vigero ZX Convertible
Declasse Voodoo Custom
Annis Euros X32
Fathom FR36 (Squished)
Vapid Firebolt ASP
Vapid Ratel (Round)
Declasse Yosemite 1500
Karin Asterope GZ
Bravado Banshee GTS
Bollokan Envisage
Enus Paragon S
Grotti Itali GTO Stinger TT
Declasse Tornado (the crappy one)
Declasse Tornado Rat Rod
Grotti Turismo Omaggio
Vapid Aleutian
Gallivanter Baller ST-D
Canis Castigator
Karin Vivanite
Please be aware that these are just the somewhat usable vehicles from Rockstar. Many of these have severely deformed mirror surfaces, there is nothing the script can do to change this.
I was hoping people would be more aware of these materials when vehicles are ported/updated for Enhanced, but the general activity for Enhanced is pretty low unfortunately.
@ikt Thanks for the coords and QoL mod recommendation for it. Is there any possibility you could also give the yaw for each one please? I'm using Menyoo for favorite location teleporting and that has support for a supplemental yaw value.
@late4work
I don't use yaw, maybe you can just teleport to those coords and figure out a good yaw.
@ikt Hmm, sorry, never mind. Menyoo must record the yaw values but doesn't use them upon teleportation. I entered a few random ones to no avail at all, so... *shrug*
Thanks anyway for all of your help! And with regards to this mod in particular, it's on my to-test-and-install list! Looks very cool.
Amazing mod! This makes FPV _way_ more enjoyable when driving. The camera feels so buttery smooth.
A few questions/feature suggestions I have:
- Is it possible to enable mirror reflections on non-Enhanced copies?
- Can we adjust the size/position of the "o" camera lock HUD element? (a bit too small on my screen and therefore easy to miss)
- Can idle head movements be toggled on/off? (the default "on" gives me a bit of motion sickness)
- Can the camera movements when reversing be disabled/modified? (currently the camera "leans" forward when reversing, also a bit disorienting to me)
Thanks! :)
Oh, one other thing, I noticed the cellphone comes up on-screen when activated instead of just showing up in the player's hand (like it normally would in FPV). Could this feature be toggled in a future update too please?
Hey @ikt, thank you for this mod. I am trying to use it with Luke Ross's REAL VR mod (I know this is no longer supported so completely understand if you can't help with this), but whenever I enable the FPV mod it always locks my view to the horizon, even with this setting turned off in the .ini and in the in-game menu. Do you have any idea what could be causing this and if there's anything I'm missing to turn off this horizon lock in VR?
Thank you so much for making this, after trying Enhanced Interior Camera in BeamNG I couldn't go back, looks like it's the same story here now.
Problem: when in first person, I can't hold B onvmy Xbox controller to temporarily enter the cinematic camera, like in stock GTA 5.
Suggestion: When using the Directional mode on Gamepad, the up direction has no effect. Given that it's completely unbound, why add an option to let it move the camera up? Sometimes this is necessary to see traffic lights.
Suggestion: Add an option to turn the camera with the steering wheel under a certain speed. this will make the camera automatically turn at junctions where you need to see where you're going, but won't interfere with high speed highway driving.
Another minor problem is that if you look around when you have passengers, they don't look back at you like in GTA 5's default cam. Very minor, but maybe far into the future you could look at emulating the first person camera silently, would probably require some very low level code though. Just putting the idea on the table for the far future - up to you.
Another suggestion, add presets for differing intensities of inertia. Not just the ability to use presets, but supply actual presets with the mod. This would allow a lot more users to increase the intensity a bit as they wish, rather than having to tweak each value individually. This would really make the mod shine imo (BeamNG Enhanced Interior Cam already does this)
Very good mod guys, I have a question, if there is an option to make the mod auto switch presets between car and bike, since I have different camera options for each?
