This mod replaces Lamar Davis’s default hairstyle with an afro, giving him a stronger old-school west coast presence.
A small personal story mode project outside my usual MP releases.
The mesh ported over from Moodymann's GTA Online ped has been reshaped to properly match Lamar’s forehead and hairline, fully re-rigged to both Lamar's gameplay and cutscene skeletons.
Additional hair card geometry added at the base to increase volume and eliminate hollow areas under dynamic lighting.
Rockstar’s original hair textures were overly transparent, so the diffuse texture has been edited to improve opacity and overall fullness. A brand-new custom normal map has also been created for better depth and lighting response.
The hair material settings have also been edited to better balance transparency, specular response, and overall shading behavior within GTA V’s PC lighting system.
It replaces all four of Lamar’s in-game model variants (base hair and hat models), so there is no hairstyle switching or popping between scenes.
In no way is this meant to drastically redesign Lamar. The goal was to do something that feels like a natural Rockstar update. If you saw this out of context, it should look like it shipped with the game.
