One of the older versions of OpenIV had a bug. Each file did not replace the previous one, but its phantom copy was added. As a result, the archive grew larger and larger with each update.
Even if you delete all files from the archive, it will continue to take up quite a lot of space.
To fix this, you need to defragment your archive. So that it weighs no more than a gigabyte, but about 670MB.
There is a tool for this in OpenIV. File -> Defragmentation. (in edit mode)
The program will rebuild the archive, removing unnecessary garbage left over from old files.
I myself once ran into this problem, when I rebuilt my archive, it began to weigh three times less. As far as I know, the current version of OpenIV does not have this error anymore.

@RoseCreationsYT you can try to create an archive from scratch altogether, perhaps the weight will become even less.

@MARK2580 Yes I couldn't figure out why the file seemed a lot bigger In the archive once extraction took place. I left if alone because I didn't want to corrupt any files associated with the mod... This definitely would do. I'll look into it tonight thanks again 😆
